In a social media post, Rajesh Yabaji, Co-Founder and CEO of BlackBuck, said that the deteriorating infrastructure has forced the company to move out of the city’s Outer Ring Road (ORR) area.

“It’s now very, very hard to continue here. We have decided to move out,” he said.

According to Yabaji, the average one-way commute for employees had gone up to over 1.5 hours, severely affecting productivity and work-life balance.

He said that despite raising these concerns repeatedly, “roads full of potholes & dust, coupled with the lowest intent to get them rectified—didn’t see any of this changing…”

He also stated that he didn’t see the situation improving in the next five years, forcing his company to make the hard choice.

Bengaluru, the IT hub in Karnataka, has long been struggling with traffic congestion and poor road quality. BlackBuck’s decision to move its operations out of the city highlights the growing frustration of businesses over the city’s infrastructure.

Addressing a presser in Bengaluru, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar stated that the officials will be held responsible for poor civic works, adding that he has directed the city commissioners to conduct inspections on a regular basis.

“We have to deliver, make sure every citizen is helped. All the problems of Bangalore city cannot be solved in one day. I know it takes time. Our citizens should also cooperate. They should declare their assets. They should not hide anything. They should pay taxes regularly, and they will get good governance,” he had said.
